Privacy policy

Last updated 18 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Fellow Forge collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Fellow Forge is run by LEDI Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”), and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to run your account and sync your study: your email address, a name if you give one, and your progress.
  • We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking cookies.
  • Some of the providers that help run Fellow Forge are overseas, mainly in the United States.
  • You can delete your account, and what we hold about you, at any time in Settings.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address; a name, if you give one; your password, which we store only as a salted, deliberately slow hash and never as the password itself; when you joined and were last active; the curricula you study; your plan and when your trial started; and features switched on for you.
  • Your study: progress, ratings, quiz and card history, highlights and notes, your exam plan and exam date, daily goal, display name, reminder time and settings. We keep these on our servers to sync your devices, and each device you use keeps its own copy.
  • Your own material: documents and text you upload to My material, and the units made from them. If your plan stops including My material, we keep the units, locked, until you move to a plan that includes it or delete them.
  • Feedback: if you send us feedback in the app, your rating and comments, with your email address, the curriculum you were studying and your plan. It is deleted with your account.
  • Audio: podcast episodes made for you, and counts of how much new audio you have made each day, for the daily allowance.
  • AI viva: if you use the AI examiner, the app records each answer you speak (after your browser asks for the microphone) and sends it to be written down. We keep the score, rating and date of each attempt with your progress; we don't keep the recordings or the transcripts.
  • Reminders: if you turn on daily reminders, each device’s push subscription (an address issued by your browser’s push service) and the time you chose.
  • If you register interest: your email address, a name if you give one, and what you are studying for. To slow down automated sign-ups, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address in a counter that is deleted after two hours.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver Fellow Forge and protect it from abuse. Our logs record your account ID, with counts, when you convert a document, and, for each answer you speak in the AI viva, your browser details and the recording's size and length, but never what you said. These logs are kept for a few days.

Cookies and storage on your device

We use one cookie. It keeps you signed in for up to 90 days, and Fellow Forge cannot work without it. The app also keeps your progress and the curricula you have opened in your browser’s storage, so it works offline. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use it

To provide Fellow Forge: to create and secure your account, sync your progress, make audio, convert your material, send the reminders you ask for, apply fair-use limits and your plan's allowances, answer your messages, read your feedback to improve Fellow Forge, and keep Fellow Forge secure. If you registered interest, we use your email address to invite you and to tell you about Fellow Forge, and for nothing else. We may look at totals that don’t identify anyone to understand how Fellow Forge is used. We don’t use your information for marketing without your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the providers that help run Fellow Forge, and only as much as they need:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts Fellow Forge and stores your account, study data, own material and audio. It also runs the AI voice model (Deepgram Aura-2) that reads text aloud, so the text being read is sent to it, and the speech-recognition model (Deepgram Nova-3) that writes down your spoken answers in the AI viva, so those recordings are sent to it.
  • Anthropic, PBC receives the documents and text you choose to convert in My material, and returns draft units. In the AI viva it receives the unit's material and the transcript of your answers, to ask the examiner's questions and to mark the attempt.
  • Apple, Google or Mozilla, depending on your browser, deliver daily reminders through their push services. We send them no study content, only a signal to show the reminder.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when they load.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.

Information sent overseas

Cloudflare stores and processes data across its global network, which includes data centres in Australia and other countries. Anthropic and Google process data in the United States. The push services are run from the United States and elsewhere.

How long we keep it

  • While your account is open, we keep your information so that Fellow Forge works.
  • “Delete my account” in Settings removes your account, progress, own material, podcast episodes and links, and reminders straight away. Copies can stay for a short time in our providers’ backups and logs.
  • We keep a registration of interest until you ask us to remove it, or until we no longer need it, for example once you have an account.
  • AI viva recordings and transcripts are used for the examiner's reply and the marking, then discarded; only your scores are kept. Daily counts of AI viva sessions expire after two days.
  • Daily audio counts expire after two days, and monthly document counts after 40 days.
  • Audio is stored under a fingerprint of the words read, not under your account, so that the same words are never voiced twice. If you had your own material read aloud, that audio can stay in this store after you delete your account, but nothing links it to you.
  • What is stored on your device stays until you clear this site’s data in your browser.

Security

Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and only LEDI Pty Ltd’s administrators can see account details such as your email, name, join and last-active dates and usage counts. Your podcast feed has a long secret link: anyone with the link can listen, so keep it to yourself, and make a new link in the app if it gets out. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at fellowforge@ledi.com.au if you think your account has been misused.

Your choices

  • Access and correction: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it. You can also make a backup of your study data in Settings at any time.
  • Deletion: Settings → Delete my account.
  • Reminders: turn them off in Settings, or in your browser’s settings.
  • Under 18: Fellow Forge is for people preparing for medical school entry and medical exams. If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian’s permission first.

Questions and complaints

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here, and tell you in the app if a change is significant.

Fellow Forge is a study tool, not a clinical reference. Notes are exam-preparation summaries written with the help of AI; they can contain errors and are not the guidelines themselves. Check anything you rely on against the current guideline, college document or product information. Practice exams are not official papers, and no exam result is guaranteed. Fellow Forge is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by RANZCOG, the RACGP, the UCAT ANZ Consortium, ACER or the RACP; their names, and the names of their exams, are used only to describe what the notes cover.
